Business Verification takes place for every new customer of the divergent Cloud.
Why do you verify businesses?
Business Verification helps to keep you, our extremely valued customers, safe at all times.
As a provider of services that are sometimes regulated, particularly in certain regions around the world, we take the integrity of our services and customers very seriously.
Rather than apply verification to individual products, we verify entire businesses (Billing Profiles) that sign up to the platform.
This lets us:
Keep our platform safe and secure
Keep your data protected
Maintain good standing with regulatory bodies and providers as necessary
Ensure that our systems perform as they should without interference from bad actors
At this time, you'll also be assigned a credit limit. For more information on what this means, see 💰Billing .
What do I need to do?
If you've just signed up, sit tight. Whilst we do manually verify every new customer, we aim to do this within 2 business days at all times and regardless of the type of business.
Watch out for any emails coming from us where we may request some extra information to verify your business. Whilst this is rare, if you've made a typo or provided incorrect information at the time of sign up, we may need to collect some more data to verify you.
Waited more than 2 days? Make sure you've checked your inbox (and spam folders, those pesky things) for an email from us. If you definitely haven't got anything, get in touch with us on hello@divergent.cloud with your business name.
Charity/Non-Profit Verification
For Charities, we may need a little more information from you to verify your charitable or non-profit status.
In the United States, we may ask for proof of your 501(c)(3) status.
In the United Kingdom, we may ask for your charity registration number.
Can I do anything whilst I wait?
Yes. Most products and services that we offer are able to run in a restricted version of themselves until we have approved your business.
Restrictions vary depending on the product.
For example, within Connect, you are not able to add new Senders nor send any emails or SMS anywhere but your own contact information.
Likewise, within Reserve, you are not able to configure Payment Providers until we verify you.
What happens if I'm not verified?
On rare occasions, we may have to reject a business account that's just signed up with us. If this happens to you, unfortunately we will not be able to provide services to your business.
Why might this happen?
We can't disclose every single reason that we may restrict a business from using our services, however a rough guideline is below.
Insufficient Information
All information provided to us must be accurate and kept up to date within a reasonable timeframe of any changes made at all times.
An important piece of information used for verification is your Billing Email Address and Legal Entity Name. If we are unable to verify a link between these 2 pieces of information, as well as verify that they are valid, we may not be able to verify your business.
High Risk Jurisdictions / Persons
You may not be verified if you are located in, provide products or services in, or are resident in jurisdictions that divergent has determined for a variety of reasons, including legal and commercial, to be prohibited, such as Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria and Russia. Likewise, if any person connected with the business is listed as having sanctions or any restrictions from a regional government that we operate in (USA, UK, EU) or the United Nations, your business may also not be verified.
Restricted Businesses
You may not use the divergent Cloud for any illegal activities nor for any businesses or product types listed below. Please note that the list is not exhaustive, but serves as a guideline.
Businesses that engage in, encourage, promote or celebrate discrimination toward any group, or unlawful violence
Adult Content & Services
Debt Related Companies
Government Services
Gambling
Mass Marketing Services
Pharmaceuticals (or any Drug related activity, legal or otherwise)
Weapons or Firearms
Can my verification status change?
Yes, though this will not happen without your knowledge.
For security and regulatory reasons, we monitor certain activity taking place on our platform, if your business is found to be concluding activity that does not meet our associated usage terms and policies.
If this is the case, we will reach out to you for a discussion on the activity and aim to reach a resolution that is reasonable for both parties.
If we contact you about a breach of our policies, we expect to receive a response to our enquiries within 5 working days. If we don't, your platform may be restricted.
